Bhubaneswar: In order to meet the demand of devotees, the Odisha State Road transport Corporation (OSRTC) has included four more buses to the existing ones to travel to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.
The OSRTC has added the services of new buses considering the rush of devotees going to participate in the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. As per the demand, the buses would start from different places of the state, sources in the Corporation said.
They claimed that the demand for bus travel has gone up considering the comfortable journey and cheaper rate of tickets compared to flights and trains. Like other buses to Prayagraj, the new buses would also have same facilities, they added.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had virtually flagged off the OSRTC bus services to Prayagaraj from Puri, Sambalpur, Bhawanipatna, and Berhampur, at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. “More than 200 people from Odisha embarked on the journey to Maha Kumbh Mela and there is a 50% discount in ticket fare for women.
The buses feature both sleeper and seater arrangements with ample legroom and are equipped with ultra-premium and high-end amenities, including mobile charging ports, to provide maximum passenger comfort.
