Bhubaneswar: With Rath Yatra ahead, the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) has come up with an ultra-modern Artificial Intelligence-based smart toilet-cum-integrated commercial facility at Malatipatpur bus stand in Odisha’s Puri town.
The OSRTC has tied up with Freshrooms Hospitality Services Pvt Ltd, a Madhya Pradesh-based start-up, to set up the facility. It would be first such provision in Odisha as well as eastern India.
The commercial facility would not only have toilets with a high-end sanitation facility for the passengers but also would be a relaxation destination. It would open to public from June 20.
The highlights of the facility are:
- Women safety with better ambient lighting and proper aesthetic design and UV lights enabled toilet pans to prevent virus and bacteria
- Pay-Use-Redeem concept
- Fresh, Eat & Lounge facility
- Artificial Intelligence based smart toilets
- World-class hygiene
Being the sole state transport undertaking of the state, it has always been the mandate for OSRTC to provide healthy and hygienic facilities for the passengers. It decided to set up the facility considering that sanitation has been the basic requirement sought by the passengers, especially women, the Corporation stated in a release.
“As OSRTC is in a transformation stage and is trying to improvise, such high-end sanitation facility would benefit the passengers and the tourists coming from various states by imparting a better hygiene as well as public service. OSRTC is also planning to introduce such concepts in other places of the state in future,” said Diptesh Kumar Pattnayak, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, OSRTC.
