Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) on Wednesday issued a notification announcing cancellation of the combined recruitment exam for the posts of RI (Revenue Inspector), ARI (Assistant Revenue Inspector), Amin, ICDS Supervisor, and Statistical Field Surveyor (SFS).
The main exam was scheduled to be held from August 1 to September 4.

Advocate General Pitambar Acharya also officially conveyed the decision to the Orissa High Court, which had asked the state government to cancel the existing recruitment process and issue a fresh advertisement.
The Commission further informed the court that a fresh notification for the preliminary examination will be issued within 14 days. All candidates who applied under the 2023 recruitment notice will be eligible to participate again without submitting new applications, as their prior applications will automatically qualify them for the exam, it added.
The cancellation came amid allegations of irregularities in the earlier preliminary exam where all candidates were declared passed, regardless of merit, violating the official recruitment rules.
The original notification had stated that only candidates numbering five times the available vacancies would qualify for the main exam. However, the Commission’s decision to allow all candidates to appear for the mains, prompted a legal petition, resulting in the cancellation of the entire recruitment process.
