OTDC’s Dussehra Offer: Floating Restaurants On Mahanadi In Cuttack
Cuttack: Come Dussehra, the revellers and foodies can have a good time as the Odisha Tourist Development Corporation (OTDC) is set to launch two floating restaurants on the Mahanadi in the city.
Two mechanised boats have been converted into restaurants with all modern facilities while professionals from hotel and catering industry will be taking care of the guests. While one be eight-seater, the other one will have capacity to accommodate 30 people.
“The floating restaurants will be launched here by Dussehra. The eateries will be powered by solar system,” TOI quoted OTDC divisional manager PK Chand as saying.
The project will be jointly handled by the OTDC and Simple India Pvt Ltd (SIPL). The operation manager of SIPL Kamal Dey said this will be first-of-its-kind initiative in Cuttack. Rs 65 lakh has been invested in the project, he added.
The restaurants will remain open from 11 am to 9.30 pm. The guests can enjoy their food and take the pleasure of the water around. At night, the floating restaurants will be decked up with colourful light while suitable music will be on play to further heighten the ambience.
“The work is almost over. The residents of Cuttack and tourists can enjoy a fine dining experience near the City Boat Club on the Mahanadi by Dussera,” OTDC chairman Shreemayee Mishra told the national daily.
The two restaurants will have both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes to cater to the needs of the guests. It will have all the favourite foods of the foodies with the added attraction of local flavour.
