Mumbai: Superstar Ajay Devgn, while promoting his upcoming comedy drama ‘Son of Sardar 2’ on Archana Puran Singh’s YouTube channel, opened up about how outsiders are misguided about the film industry.
During the candid conversation with Archana, Ajay shared that he learnt a lot about the industry from his father Veeru Devgn, who was a popular Bollywood stunt choreographer.
The actor further said that outsiders who wish to be a part of the industry dream of becoming a star from day one, and this is where they go wrong and end up disappointed.
When Archana asked if he has learnt anything from his father, Ajay said, â
Whatever Iâve learnt technically and about the industry is all because of him. The kind of dedication he had and what he taught meâ¦the honesty towards work, all of it comes from him.â
Archana then said, âYou know, this is one of the reasons that the film industry prefers people to come in from film families because they already learn professional ethics from their parents.â
Ajay agreed, saying, âYou get to learn a lot.â
Talking about outsiders, Ajay said, âI am not talking about everybody because there are sensible people, but a lot of times, they come in not knowing if they want to be an actor or a star. You cannot be a star on day one; first, you need to be an actor. So, I think thereâs a misunderstanding somewhere for people; they are misguided about the industryâ¦those from outside film families. I think ultimately, itâs your hard work.â
The chat show also featured Ajayâs co-star Mrunal Thakur, as Archana’s husband, actor Parmeet Singh, and sons Ayushmann and Aaryamann also joined in.
Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, N R Pachisia and Pravin Talreja, âSon of Sardar 2â is a sequel to the 2012 film âSon of Sardaarâ.
The film will be released in theatres on August 1.
