Berhampur: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch has seized huge quantity of narcotic drugs and arrested two persons in this connection in Ganjam district.
On the basis of intelligence input, the STF personnel conducted a raid on the house of brothers Banamali Pradhan and Arun Kumar Pradhan at Raghunathsahi in Buguda under Buguda police limits on Thursday night.
During the raid, ganja weighing 107 kg, opium 517 gram, gold 607 gram, silver 196 gram, one Innova vehicle, document of 29 landed property and other incriminating materials were seized from their possession. The accused persons could not produce any document for possession of ganja and opium, for they were arrested and forwarded to the court.
The STF has filed a case under NDPS Act 1985 in this connection and further investigation is on.
During its special drive against narcotic drugs since 2020, the STF has seized more than 50 kg of brown sugar, 202 gram cocaine, more than 93 quintal of ganja, opium 750 gram and arrested more than 141 drug dealers and peddlers.
