Bhubaneswar: With number of COVID-19 cases rising in Odisha, the three districts of Ganjam, Cuttack and Khurda alone account for more than 1000 cases.
In the last 24 hours, the number of infected people in the state has risen to 14,898 after 618 fresh cases were detected on Wednesday. On the other hand, 612 patients recovered from the infection.
Among the 618 new cases, Ganjam leads with 286 cases. Khurda (107), Balasore (61), Jagatsinghpur (26), Mayurbhanj (21), Cuttack (16), 15 each from Sundargarh and Nayagarh, Angul (14), Malkangiri (13), Sambalpur (10), Kendrapada (9), five each from Jajpur, Keonjhar and Puri, two each from Balangir, Boudh and Dhenkanal and one each from Bhadrak, Jharsuguda, Koraput and Rayagada reported the other cases.
Ganjam has reported 4621 positive cases, with 46 deaths and 2971 recovery so far. The total number of active cases in the district is 1601.
Khurda reported 1530 cases with 13 deaths and 1000 recoveries so far. The total number of active cases in the district is 511. Cuttack reported 1076 cases with eight deaths and 828 recoveries so far. The total number of active cases in the district is 237.
