Over 2 Tons Of Plastic Items, Polythene Bags Seized In Bhubaneswar Market

Bhubaneswar: A special squad of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) seized over two tons of banned plastic items and polythene bags from a businessman at Aiginia market in the city on Monday.

Following a tip-off, the BMC squad carried out the raid and also fined the errant businessman Rs 50,000.

Notably, the environment-hramly single-use plastic has been banned in all urban areas of Odisha since October 2, 2019.
