Over 30,000 Primary Teacher Posts Lying Vacant In Odisha, Says Minister
Bhubaneswar: More than 30,000 primary school teacher posts are lying vacant in Odisha, said Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond on Friday.
Replying to a question from Chakramani Kanhar, MLA from Baliguda in Kandhamal district, the minister said total 30,540 teacher posts in primary schools across the state were lying vacant.
Of these vacant posts, maximum 4,283 posts have not been filled up in Ganjam district, he added.
Gond further said there are total 1,35,656 teacher posts approved by the state government. However, the minister said the government has already started the process to fill up 16,000 teacher posts in primary schools across the state initially.
