New Delhi: A total of 65,002 new cases registered overnight took India’s COVID-19 tally past 25 lakh-mark to stand at 25,26,192 on Saturday.
Also, 996 more patients succumbed to the infection across the country in the last 24 hours. The fatality rate has dipped below 2 per cent and stands at 1.95 per cent with total 49,036 COVID-19 deaths. India ranks fifth in deaths due to the deadly virus.
According to the Union Health Ministry, 71.17 per cent (18,08,936 ) people have recovered, including 57,381 patients in the last 24 hours, while 26.88 per cent (6,68,220) are still under treatment.
According to ICMR, the total number of samples tested so far is 2,85,63,905 and it includes Friday’s 8,68,679.
