Bhubaneswar: More than 8,000 beneficiaries of the Odisha government’s ‘Subhadra’ scheme have been re-registered through the latest “opt-in” option in the form.

The government introduced the new facility for the Subhadra Yojana beneficiaries who opted out of the scheme by mistake to enable them to add their name.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said the Subhadra Yojana portal provides the new facility for the opted-out beneficiaries to opt in. Those who had opted out while updating or due to some reason by mistake can opt-in after logging in to the portal, she said.

Parida, who holds Women and Child Development portfolio, said around 31,000 applications were received for those who opted out by mistake and steps have been taken for again adding them though the new feature.

The Women and Child Development department on Saturday informed that of those, who had opted out by mistake, already 8,000 have been rolled back into the scheme.

The first instalment of the fourth phase of the scheme is scheduled to be released shortly. The minister said an inquiry will take place until January 15 and the number of applicants after that period will be taken into account to decide a date for disbursal of the funds.

Meanwhile, the state Cabinet has approved March 31 as the deadline for registration to avail benefits under the Subhadra Yojana for the financial year 2024-25.
