Nuapada/Kendrapara: The Election Commission’s flying squad seized over Rs 16 lakh unaccounted cash at Odisha’s Nuapada and Kendrapara districts on Friday.
Over Rs 7 lakh was seized from a car from Boden area in Nuapada.
According to sources, officials intercepted a car in Boden area and seized Rs 7.26 lakh.
The police detained five persons in this connection.
Investigation into the matter is on.
The flying squad seized Rs 9 lakh from a car on the Pattamundai bypass road in Kendrapara on the same day.
Officials intercepted the car during inspection near Bharat Gas Agency on the Cuttack-Chandbali Highway and seized the cash.
The car belongs to Basant Das, the owner of a petrol pump.
