Over Rs 27 Lakh Unaccounted Cash Seized In Rourkela

Rourkela: The Election Commission’s flying squad seized Rs 27.49 lakh from an unregistered Audi car at Mahipani Chhak near Bisra in Rourkela on Wednesday.

According to sources, the unaccounted cash was found from the luxury car during a vehicle check.

The driver managed to flee from the spot after throwing the cash bag out of the vehicle.

The election squad along with the local police followed the car but in vain.

The police have started investigation into the matter.

It is suspected that the cash was being taken for distribution in view of the upcoming elections.
