Overseas Tour Of Make-In-Odisha Team Successful: Minister
Bhubaneswar: Industries minister Anant Das on Sunday termed the overseas tour of the Make-in-Odisha team as successful.
Talking to mediapersons here after completing his tour of Japan, South Korea and China, he said about 150 companies participated in the road show in Japan while the officials of 20 leading companies had a one-on-one meeting with the team.
“Besides, 150 companies each from China and South Korea also participated in the Make-in-Odisha road show,” he added.
The minister also informed that companies of these three countries have shown their keenness in steel, food processing and textiles and handloom and tourism sectors.
Talking about the participation of foreign companies in the Make-in-Odisha conclave scheduled to be held in the Odisha capital in November, Das said that 20 companies from Italy will take part in it for which 20 rooms have been booked in advance.
Asked about the Odisha Investors’ meet, which is being jointly organized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in Surat, the Industries minister said he had no idea about such event. “No one has informed me personally about the event so far,” he added.
Stating that setting up of new industries by any company outside the state is always welcome, he said no industries can be established without the cooperation of the state government.
“I don’t mind if I am not invited. But efforts should be made for the development of Odisha,” he pointed out.
