Jeypore: Padma Shri awardee Kamala Pujari was admitted to Jeypore hospital in Koraput district late on Saturday after she complained of uneasiness.
She is reportedly suffering from high blood pressure and undergoing treatment at a special ward in the hospital. Her condition is stated to be stable now, sources said.
The tribal woman was conferred with the Padma Shri last year for her commendable job in preserving indigenous paddy varieties and promoting organic farming.
Pujari had also received ‘Equator Initiative Award’ in South Africa in 2002.
