Glasgow: Have you heard of a job where one gets salary to watch pornography?
Well, this is not a figment of someone’s imagination.
A Scottish woman has actually been hired by a website to watch porn only. And Rebecca Dickson will get a handsome remuneration for that, The New York Post reported.
If the nature of sounds odd, Rebecca’s job profile is research work.
As many as 90,000 candidates had applied for the post of Bedbible’s Head of Porn Research. The 22-year-old Rebecca was the chosen one, and will be paid $20 (around Rs 1,500) per hour.
Explaining the rationale behind such a job profile, Bedbible — an ethical sex site — said it initiated the research to get a better insight into the porn industry.
Rebecca has to gather information and collect data on sex positions, duration, number of orgasms, male vs female ratio and language distribution. She will then have to compile an in-depth report about ‘tendencies and statistics in porn’.
“I saw it and thought that was just the ideal job, who wouldn’t want to get paid to watch porn? I’m honestly shocked that I was picked for the job as I’m from a small town where not much happens… It’s a great opportunity and I’m glad to be a part of the project,” said Rebecca.
According to New York Post, Rebecca’s salary is almost three times more than the federal minimum wage in the United States.
“It is a much different endeavour than I am used to, but I thrived on the new challenge and it was a role made for me. I found it very fascinating to explore a subject which is surrounded by stigma and this piece opens new viewpoints around the industry,” she said.
