Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi
Islamabad: Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pakistan’s foreign minister, said Friday that he has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus infection and has put himself in quarantine.
While breaking the news on Twitter, Qureshi said that he had slight fever and he immediately put himself in quarantine. Later he tested positive.
“I have now tested positive for COVID-19. By the grace of Allah, I feel strong and energetic. I will continue to carry on my duties from home. Please keep me in your prayers,” Qureshi tweeted.
Incidentally, the Pakistan foreign minister had a meeting with US special representative Zalmay Khalilzad for reconciliation in Afghanistan. The meeting was held at the Islamabad’s foreign office on Wednesday also involving Adam Boehler, CEO of US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
If unconfirmed reports are anything to go by, Qureshi had met Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday.
