Bhubaneswar: BJD leader from Paralakhemundi, K. Narayan Rao, who had resigned from the primary membership of the party on Tuesday, formally joined the BJP on Wednesday.
Rao was welcomed by state BJP president Basant Panda and Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan at the party office here. He had expressed displeasure over the BJD leadership not considering his name for the Paralakhemundi Assembly seat a second time. Protesting against the decision, he resigned from the primary membership of the party on Tuesday.
Notably, the BJD has announced the name of Kalyani Gajapati, daughter of the Parala king, as the party candidate for Paralakhemundi Assembly seat.
