Berhampur: A minor student of class-X of Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls’ School died in the hostel at Chhatrapur in Odisha’s Ganjam on Sunday, after which her parents blamed the authorities of the educational institution for her death.
According to sources, the girl Rosa Behera was residing at the hostel. She suddenly fell ill early on Sunday morning around 4 am.
Initially, the warden gave her a tablet, but when she vomited several times the authorities rushed her to Chhatrapur Hospital where she was declared dead.
On getting the information, her parents arrived at the hospital and blamed the hostel authorities alleging negligence. They questioned the authorities about the delay in taking her to a nearby hospital.
After hearing about the incident, the District Education Officer Binita Senapati also arrived at the spot and gave Rs 10,000 to Rosa’s family from the Guru Kalyan Student Fund.
Meanwhile, the body was sent for the postmortem procedure to ascertain the actual cause behind her death.
