New Delhi: Her parents had left for a ‘Kailash Yatra’, but there has been no news of the whereabout of Venkatram and Anagha Annamdevara since deadly flash floods hit Nepal and Tibet on August 26.
Worried sick and unable to concentrate on anything else, Tanvi still made an effort to sit for the National Eligibility cum Entrance (NEET) Postgraduate (PG) 2026 exam on August 30.
How did she manage to write the exam amid such uncertainty in her life?
Well, she wrote the exam to fulfil her dad’s wish.
Tanvi shared her experience through videos on social media, showing the inked finger to give thumb impression during the exam.
“Out of the three-hour exam, one and a half hours I spent crying. The question kind of became difficult to read at times because there were tears in my eyes,” she said.
“I just knew that my dad wants me to give this exam and I have to do it for him, I have to do it for my parents,” she shared, tears welling up.
What made it even more difficult was that while at the exam centre, she could see her picture on the admit card. “That photo was taken by my dad. That made NEET PG so much more difficult,” Tanvi said.
Thoughts of her mother also came rushing.
“More than the exam, the most difficult part was before the exam my mom would give me dahi shakkar (curd and sugar). In this exam, that didn’t happen,” she lamented.
Tanvi shared that her parents had embarked on the pilgrimage trip with a group of 67 people. She and others in her family have not been able to contact any member from the tour group or organisation since August 26, she informed.
“The last location of the group was the immigration centre and the Friendship Bridge,” she mentioned.
But like all those who are missing, Tanvi lives in hope that her parents and everybody else are safe and will return home soon.
