Nayagarh: Nayagarh collector and SP on Wednesday appeared before the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in the wake of the alleged kidnap and murder of a five-year-old girl, Pari.
As per sources Collector Poma Tudu and SP Pratyush Diwakar appeared before the Commission in a video conferencing and provided the action taken report (ATR), copy of FIR besides all relevant documents pertaining to the matter.
Taking suo motu cognizance of the case, the Commission on November 30 had directed the Odisha Government to submit a detailed report within 10 days. The Commission directed the Chief Secretary to submit the birth certificate and the postmortem report of the deceased, besides the FIR copy along with the current status of the investigation and the action taken by the police against the accused.
The directive of the Commission came in response to the memorandum submitted by the BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra.
NCPCR Chairperson Priyank Kanoongo in a tweet had said the Commission has received complaints about human organ trafficking related to the alleged murder of the girl child in Jadupur village of the district.
