Bhubaneswar: The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Odisha government to file an affidavit on the progress in the investigation into the alleged murder of a five-year-old girl at Jadupur village in Nayagarh district, in four weeks.
The apex court gave the direction while hearing the petition filed by the girl’s mother Saudamini Sahoo in January, seeking a CBI probe into the incident.

Notably, the girl went missing on July 14 while she was playing in front of her house at Jadupur village of Nayagarh district and her skeletal remains were recovered from the backyard of the house on June 23.

Meanwhile, the Crime Branch Special Investigation Team (SIT) has submitted the final charge-sheet in the Children’s Court in Nayagarh.
