‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’: Odisha CM Interacts With Students, Favours Stress-Free Learning

Bhubaneswar: Noting that exam time often causes anxiety among students and their parents, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday advised them to work hard with confidence instead of getting stressed.

“A little pressure before the exam is good, but do not get too stressed. Follow the advice of teachers, make good use of time and work hard with confidence. Success is certain to come,” Majhi said while participating in the “Pariksha Pe Charcha” programme held at Unit-1 Government High School in Bhubaneswar.

A video of direct interaction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with students, teachers and parents in the 8th edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ in New Delhi was screened on the occasion. Aimed at easing exam stress and fostering a positive approach to learning, the initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and parents.

PM Modi guided the students and gave them advice on many important aspects to prepare for the exam with patience, determination and strong faith and to be stress-free while taking the exam and achieve success.

Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister said education promotes a joyful attitude towards life and students should make good use of the time before the exam and keep themselves mentally strong without getting stressed during the exam.

Stressing that fear affects concentration, Majhi said students need to relax a little for concentration. “To study with concentration for a longer time, take a break for 5-10 minutes in between and study again with full concentration,” he said.

“I firmly believe that you will definitely get the reward of your hard work. If you continue to work hard with confidence and a desire to always move forward, your efforts will not go in vain. Success can be achieved only by focusing more on exam preparation than on exam results. During the exam, you should focus on what is required without worrying about anything else,” the Chief Minister said.

On the use of digital devices, Majhi said that these devices should be used very less during studies and students should stay away from mobile phones while preparing for exam to ensure greater concentration.

Notably, 168 students of Unit-1 Government High School, who are set to appear for the matriculation examination this year, attended the programme and directly interacted with the Chief Minister, asked questions about pre-exam preparation and also participated in the discussion. Among the students present, Lisa Nayak, Shubham Patra, J. Meenakshi, Sasmita Sahu, Sanjeev Digal, asked questions to the Chief Minister and participated in the discussion. On this occasion, the CM distributed exam preparation kits to the students.

The program was attended by School and Mass Education Minister Nityanand Gand, Additional Secretary to the Chief Ministeri Anupam Saha, State Project Director, Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority (OPEPA), Ananya Das, along with all the teachers and students of Unit-1 Government High School.
