Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped passengers after a bus parked at Baramunda bus stand here caught fire on Wednesday afternoon.
According to sources, some staff sleeping in the private bus Chakadola (OD-33-U-1399) rushed out of it on spotting the fire. Soon, passengers waiting for other buses ran helter-skelter.
On being informed, two fire brigades rushed to the spot and doused the flames within half-ah-hour.
As informed by the Fire Services personnel, a short-circuit either in the air-conditioning unit or the battery could have caused the fire.
