Bhubaneswar: Movement of passenger trains were disrupted as a good train derailed in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Saturday evening.
According to sources, the goods train get derailed near Chhatrapur railway station in the district at around 7 pm. As three wagons of the train loaded with minerals jumped the tracks, the local pilot stopped the train.
On being informed, the Railway officials have rushed to the spot for inspection. While the cause of derailment has not been ascertained, nobody has been injured in the incident.
As the movement of passenger trains on Berhampur-Khurda route has been stopped due to the derailment of the goods train.
The Railway officials and technical teams have been pressed to put the derailed train back on the tracks and restore passenger train services, the sources said.
