Puri: ‘Patitapabana bana’ snapped off Nilachakra atop the Jagannath Temple here following strong gusty wind again this morning.
Since other flags tied to the metal wheel are intact, the incident will have no impact on rituals of the three deities, informed temple administration sources.
This is for the second time that the holy flag snapped off in a month. The last incident was reported on September 8.
On October 6 last year, one of the flags hoisted atop the temple had caught fire in a lightning strike.
