Balangir: Soudamini Meher, the wife of Patnagarh bomb blast accused Punjilal Meher, has sent a legal notice to the then Crime Branch IG, Arun Bothra, for promoting a film on the case.
According to sources, Soudamini has been opposing the making of the film and accused Bothra as being one if its promoters.
She has also forwarded the copies of the legal notice to the secretary to the President, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Saha, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Odisha DGP Abhay.
Notably, the Crime Branch had arrested Punjilal, a college lecturer, on April 25, 2018 in the parcel bomb blast case. A newly-married techie Soumya Sekhar Sahu and his grandmother Jemamani Sahu were killed and Soumya’s wife Reema was seriously injuries in the blast.
Investigators have alleged that Punjilal plotted and executed the murder very minutely after he was replaced as principal of the college by the deceased man’s mother.
