Noida: An increase in dog-bite incidents has compelled the administration in Noida to take some stringent steps.
From March 1, 2023, the Noida Authority will impose a fine of Rs 10,000 on owners if their pet dogs or cats attack other people or animals. Not only that, the injured person or animal’s treatment will have to be taken care of by the owner.
The Noida Authority took the decisions after discussing the issue of stray dogs menace and pet attacks at its board meeting on Saturday.
The Noida body issued detailed guidelines to determine policies under the rules of Animal Welfare Board.
The Noida Authority has made it mandatory to get pet dogs and cats registered by March 2023 through Noida Authority pet registration app. Non-registration will draw a penalty.
Also, sterilisation and anti-rabies vaccination of pet dogs have been made mandatory, with a penalty to be imposed in case of violation.
If a pet dog litters in a public place, it will be the responsibility of the animal owner to clean it.
