People’s Patience Running Out For Inaccessible CM & Rule Of Babus, Says Odisha BJP President
Bhubaneswar: The state administration is run by the bureaucrats as the leaders of ruling BJD including chief minister Naveen Patnaik are neither to be seen nor heard, said BJP’s Odisha president Manmohan Samal.
Speaking at a presser in Jeypore during his visit to Malkangiri and Koraput districts on Sunday, Samal said though the chief minister has been elected for 23 years, he is not accessible to the people or the leaders of his party.
“The chief minister has not visited his grievance cell for the last 10 years. The voters of his constituency are not able to meet him to submit their grievances. Even the elected leaders of BJD are unable to meet him,” said Samal.
He further alleged that the elected representatives of the ruling party are also not available to hear the problems of the people. Instead, 5(T) secretary is touring all parts of the state to hear the grievances of the people as a representative of the chief minister, he added.
“It reflects the responsibility and commitment of the BJD leaders towards their voters. While the state is run by handful of bureaucrats, the ministers and MLAs of BJD remain mute spectators to mockery of democracy,” the BJP leader said.
Even as the BJP-led Central government has sanctioned thousands of crore of rupees for development of the state, corruption from panchayat to state level has deprived the people of getting the Central schemes. “The people have become impatient and restless with the rule of babus in the state,” he added.
