Bhubaneswar: The third phase of COVID-19 vaccination got underway at 153 centres in Odisha and no side effects have been reported so far.
The vaccination programme is continuing from villages to cities without any obstructions, Director (Health and Family Welfare) Bijay Panigrahi informed the media here on Monday.
However, there were some initial hiccups with the CoWIN app. Panigrahi said the server was slow and there were some temporary problems during the first hour. Later, the problem was solved, he added.
As many as 60 people were registered on the spot. Looking at the interest of the people to get vaccinated, the registration numbers will be increased, said Panigrahi.
A maximum of 100 doses will be given at one centre per day. The number will be increased, if necessary, he added.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was administered COVAXIN around 11 am at Odisha Assembly Dispensary here today. He is also now fine. Expressing happiness after taking the vaccination, Patnaik appealed the people to take the vaccine.

Notably, senior citizens and those between 45 and 60 years of age with comorbidities can register for the vaccine. Registration can be done via the CoWIN app and also on spot at the hospitals.
