Puri: The BJP candidate, Ashrit Pattanayak, filed nomination papers for Pipili bypoll in Odisha’s Puri town on Friday.
Pattanayak and his supporters reached the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Office in the town and filed papers for the by-election to be held on April 17.
The BJP had announced his name yesterday.
Ashrit is currently the president of party’s Puri district unit. He had contested in the 2019 Assembly elections from Pipili, but lost to BJD’s Pradeep Maharathy by 15,787 votes.
