Bhubaneswar: A day after announcing reopening of schools and colleges for physical classes, the state government on Friday said all planetariums will be opened to visitors.
According to a government release, Pathani Samanta Planetarium at Bhubaneswar, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Planetarium at Burla and Pathani Samanta Museum at Khandapada will reopen on February 8. These institutions will remain open on all days of week except Monday.
The authorities of planetariums and the museum have been directed to ensure strict adherence to COVID protocols like wearing masks and maintaining social distance by the visitors as well as staff. The planetariums will run with 50% of their seating capacity.
The planetariums were closed due to surge in COVID cases in the state from December 31 as a precautionary measure.
It may be noted that the government on Thursday announced reopening of schools, colleges and other educational institutions from February 7.
