Plasma Therapy For COVID-19 To Be Offered Free Of Cost In Odisha: Naveen
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday said the plasma therapy for COVID-19 will be made available free of cost to the people of the state.
Inaugurating the Plasma Bank at SCB Medical College, Cuttack through video conference, the chief minister said, “For me and my government, life of every person is precious and the state would do everything possible to save lives of our people. I would like to announce that plasma therapy will be made available free of cost to the people of Odisha.”
Odisha is the third state after Delhi and Maharashtra to have introduced Convalescent Plasma Therapy for the treatment of serious COVID-29 patients.
Appreciating the efforts of the doctors, Naveen said, “Our doctors and medical personnel are working hard to provide their best in serving the people in these difficult times. We need to encourage and boost their morale.”
Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Das hoped that the plasma therapy will be useful in successful treatment of serious COVID-19 patients.
The SUM Hospital and KIIMS Hospital at Bhubaneswar and Aswini Hospital at Cuttack will provide plasma therapy while SCB Medical College, Cuttack will be the nodal agency.
