Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court on Thursday dismissed a PIL seeking waiver of fees by private schools during the lockdown period.
Dismissing the petition, the court said that the state government had already issued a directive on deferment of school fees on April 9 and therefore no further order was required in the matter.
Notably, the Rajasthan government had directed schools to defer the payment of fee for three months and not to strike off the name of any student on account of non-payment of fee during this period.
In a similar case, the Supreme Court had dismissed a petition by students of private colleges seeking fee waiver during the lockdown.
