Bhubaneswar: Taking note of the plight of 12 students, who could not take the annual Plus II examination in Odisha this year, for having taken admission in an unrecognized college, the state government has directed School and Mass Education department to make it mandatory for all government, residential and higher secondary schools to enroll students through Student Activity Management System (SAMS) from this academic session.
“The government has decided that from this year, admission in all Plus II colleges in Odisha will be done through SAMS. The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has been asked to upload a list of recognized colleges, approved by the School and Mass Education department, on its website for the benefit of the students,” secretary, School and Mass Education, Pradipta Mohapatra told the media on Wednesday.
“The decision of the state government will protect students from being lured by unrecognized colleges to take admission. Putting up the list of all recognized colleges on CHSE website will also ensure transparency in the admission,” said Deputy Controller of Examinations, CHSE, Dr Prabodh Panda.
