New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Remembering Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary, President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid rich tributes to the national icon.
The nation is also observing this day as ‘Parakram Diwas’.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, the President wrote, “Tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as the nation commences his 125th birth anniversary celebrations. It is befitting to celebrate this day as “Parakram Diwas” to honor his boundless courage & valor. Netaji instilled the fervour of nationalism among his countless followers.”
“Netaji is one of our most beloved national heroes who made an extraordinary contribution to India’s freedom struggle. Netaji’s patriotism and sacrifice shall always inspire us. We are committed to strengthening the spirit of freedom so strongly espoused by him,” he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “May the thoughts and ideas of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose keep inspiring us to work towards building an India that he would be proud of…a strong, confident and self-reliant India, whose human-centric approach contributes to a better planet in the years to come.”
The CM tweeted, “Netaji was self-confident. His dedication and unique thought towards the development of the country will inspire the youth always.”
Meanwhile, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan garlanded flowers to the statue of Netaji at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose museum at Odia Bazar in Cuttack.
Giving tribute to Netaji, internationally-acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sand art at sea beach in Puri and tweeted,
