PM Modi’s Estranged Wife In Odisha’s Puri For Darshan Of Lord Jagannath & Siblings At Gundicha Temple

Puri: Jashodaben, estranged wife of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had darshan of Lord Jagannath and His siblings on Adapa Mandap of Gudicha Temple in Odisha’s Puri on Tuesday.

Jashodaben was accompanied by her brother Ashok Modi.

According to sources, she reached Puri late on Monday and stayed at the Circuit House. Early this morning,  she went to Gundicha temple, where the sibling deities are placed on Adapa Mandap. Going by belief, anyone offering prayers to the deities on Adap Mandap (in the sanctum sanctorum of Gundicha temple) gets freed from the cycle of rebirth.

Sovaniya Andolan Director Arundhati Debi was with Jasodaben during her visit to the temple, informed journalist and chairman of Vishwa Odia Samaj Kishore Dwivedi, who gave them local assistance.

The last day of darshan of the deities on Adapa Mandap (i.e. Sesha Darshan on Nabami) at Gundicha Mandir is popularly called as Sandhya Darshan. It was earlier allowed in the evening hours but now restricted till 5 pm in view of Bahuda Yatra the following day.

After a nine-day long sojourn at Gundicha Temple, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Jagannath will return to their abode Srimandir on Wednesday. The grandiose chariots  have been parked at Nakachana Dwara of Gundicha Temple, waiting for the deities for the homeward journey.
