PM’s Visit To Odisha Tomorrow: Bhubaneswar Airport To Raj Bhavan Route Under Tight Security Net

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements in Bhubaneswar during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on Sunday.

Speaking to media persons on Saturday, DCP Prateek Singh said the Prime Minister will land at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in the city at 9.30 pm and then will move to Raj Bhawan where he will make the night halt. Modi is scheduled to address two election meetings in Berhampur and Nabarangpur next day.

For the movement of the Prime Minister’s carcade, a three-tier security arrangement will be put in place from the airport to Raj Bhavan. Three DCPs, 10 ACPs, 17 IICs and 20 platoons of police force including CISF personnel will be deployed on the route, the DCP said.

The entire route will be barricaded and declared ‘No Drone Flying Zone’ during the PM’s visit. Besides, a carcade rehearsal will be carried out in the evening before the PM’s arrival, Singh said adding that movement of vehicular traffic will also be controlled at the time.

The DCP further said the Commissionerate Police held a detailed discussion with the Special Protection Group (SPG) officers regarding the security arrangements. “Raj Bhavan and its adjoining areas will also be under tight security during the PM’s night halt. We will keep a close watch on the movement of any person in the area,” he added.
