Satna (Madhya Pradesh): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, on Sunday, referred to Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) as a room in a house called India, into which strangers have moved in.
There were loud cheers at the event in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, when he said that the room has to be taken back.
“Many Sindhi brothers are sitting here. I am very happy. They did not go to Pakistan; they came to undivided India. Circumstances have sent us here from that home because that home and this home are not different,” Bhagwat said.
“The whole of India is one home, but someone has removed one room of our house where my table, chair, and clothes used to be kept. They have occupied it. Tomorrow, I have to take it back…” he said amidst applause.
The call to take back PoJK has gone up since Operation Sindoor. Even the Indian government has made it clear that any talks with Pakistan will be on terrorism and PoJK.
Bhagwat’s comments come at a time when tension has flared up in PoJK with locals rising up against Pakistani rule. Thousands of residents rallied around the banner of the Awami Action Committee (AAC) to demand economic relief and political reforms.
Ten people have been killed there over the last three days, and over 100 injured. In clashes with Pakistani forces. In Dhirkot (Bagh district), four protesters were shot dead, while fatalities were also reported from PoK’s Muzaffarabad, Dadyal (Mirpur), and Chamyati near Kohala. The Shehbaz Sharif government finally had to hold talks with the protesters to arrive at a temporary truce.
