Police ASI Caught Taking Bribe By Odisha Vigilance In Kandhamal
Bhubaneswar: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police posted at Kotagarh in Kandhamal district was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for allegedly accepting Rs 15,000 bribe for providing help in a case.
The accused, identified as Rajanikanta Das, was caught while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 15,000/- near the Kali temple at Kotagarh town from a complainant to help him and his friends in a police case, Vigilance said in a release.
The case was registered in Kotagarh Police Station and the accused ASI was the Investigating Officer. The entire bribe money has been recovered from Das and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Das from Disproportionate Assets angle.
In this connection, a case has been registered and investigation is in progress.
