BJD leader and Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty is once again in news for wrong reasons. A complaint has been lodged at Kendrapara Sadar police station, alleging non-payment of Rs 11.45 lakh on account of printing of posters during 2019 general elections.
According to sources, the actor-turned-politician had placed an order with Baladevjew Add Media in Kendrapara for poster and flex printing. Proprietor of the printing shop Smruti Ranjan Swain said that a bill of Rs 32.56 lakh was generated against the work done for the MP.
He first received Rs 20,55,000 in cash from the MP’s representatives. Later, Rs 30,591 was transferred to his account from Anubhav’s personal bank account on May 1, 2019. He received another installment of Rs 25,370 on June 19, 2019, the complainant said.
However, Rs 11,45,439 is still pending. “He had assured me that the rest payment will be cleared soon. He had cited his busy schedule for the delay,” Swain said.
He further said that the MP was aware of the fact that he had taken loan for all the printing work that was done during polls and had been served notice by the bank. “I was left with no option but to lodged a complaint. I have also marked a copy of the complaint to PMO, CMO, Kendrapara SP and SDPO,” he added.
