Police Complaint Filed Against Online Sale Of Jagannath Temple ‘Mahaprasad’ In Odisha’s Puri
Puri: An online service provider has faced the police complaint for selling ‘Mahaparsad’ of Jagnnath Temple in the holy town.
Sevayat Shambhunath Khuntia has filed the complaint at Singhadwar police station alleging that online company ‘Pintrest’ has been making home delivery of the holy prasad without authorisation. Besides selling ‘Abhada’, the service provider was supplying dry prasad to the people, the complainant has stated.
Earlier, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) had filed a police complaint against e-commerce giant Amazon over the online sale of Nirmalya prasad on December 3.
In his complaint lodged at Singhadwara police station here, SJTA Administrator (Development) Ajay Kumar Jena alleged that Nirmalya is being sold online by Amazon without permission from the temple administration.
Similarly, the Brahman Nijog Samiti of the Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar had lodged a complaint at the Lingaraj police station seeking action against the website Tashukeru for making home delivery of ‘Abadha’ of Lingaraj and Anant Vasudev temples in the Twin Cities.
