Police Foil ATM Loot Attempt, Arrest 2 Persons In Odisha’s Kandhamal
Phulbani: Two persons were arrested after they were caught red-handed while attempting to loot an ATM in Odisha’s Kandhamal district on Sunday.
According to sources, Rajendra Chand and his accomplice had gone to loot the ATM of State Bank of India (SBI), located in front of a women’s college in Phulbani town of the district, in the wee hours of Sunday. Rajendra works in a health centre in Phulbani as a vaccine manager, but the identity of his accomplice has not been ascertained.
While they were trying to break open the cash dispensing box inside the ATM kiosk with some tools, a police van on routine patrolling duty on the route spotted them.
The police nabbed Rajendra and his accomplice and seized a hand saw blade, a hammer, a knife and a crowbar besides other instruments from their possession. After the two miscreants admitted their attempt to loot the cash from the ATM, the police arrested them.
The police have registered a case and started investigation to know further details on the arrested persons.
