New Delhi: A senior police inspector died in a road accident on Sunday after his car was hit by a speeding truck from in Punjabi Bagh area.
The victim was identified as Inspector Jagbir Singh of Delhi Police, who was posted in the Security Unit. He had joined Delhi Police in 1994.
Singh’s car, a Ciaz, had stopped due to some mechanical problem and the policeman had got down to check the problem. The truck came from behind and rammed into the car and also hit the cop, killing him on the spot.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer informed that the accident took place on Rohtak Road, near Madipur Metro station.
The truck driver managed to get out and flee from the spot immediately. Delhi Police is investigating the matter and looking for the driver.
