Police Officer Arrested For Taking Bribe In Odisha’s Kalahandi
Bhawanipatna: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday arrested a police officer for allegedly accepting illegal gratification of Rs 3,000.
The accused has been identified as Gaya Kumar Senapati, an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Karlamunda police outpost in Kalahandi district.
According to vigilance sources, a trap was laid after receiving a complaint that Senapati had demanded Rs 3,000 bribe from Krushna Chandra Nayak of Karlamunda village, to let him off in a case pertaining to a clash that had taken place at M. Rampur area in the district.
The officer was caught red-handed by the anti-corruption officials while accepting the bribe money from Nayak, the sources added.
