Bhubaneswar: Police on Thursday picked up KALIA beneficiaries, agitating in front of the official residence of Agriculture Minister Arun Kumar Sahu here.
The beneficiaries, led by the leaders of Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan, were staging the dharna to protest against non-payment of the promised financial assistance.
Talking to the media, a protester said only 25 per cent beneficiaries have received money so far despite an assurance from the Chief Minister. “We had gone to the residence of the Agriculture Minster to redress our grievances. But the police forcibly removed us from the place,” he added.
