Kabisuryanagar: The police on Sunday seized 14 sacks of ‘bhang’ from a fake ambulance in Ganjam district.
According to sources, while the vehicle with ambulance sticker was towards Kodala, the police spotted some plastic bags inside it at a check point near Budhamba Chhak.
On suspicion, the police indicated at the ‘ambulance’ driver to stop. As they approached the vehicle, its driver and another person tried to escape from the place. But police at the check point chased and caught hold of them. On checking the vehicle, 14 sacks of ‘bhang’ were found.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle’s registration number was fake. Its driver said they were going to Kodala from Digapahandi. The police have detained both the persons.
