Cuttack: Eminent jatra artist of Odisha Mahendra Das, popularly known as Bhiku Seth, passed away after a massive heart attack on Saturday.
A relative told the media that the 55-year-old artist was taken from his house at Choudwar to SCB Medical College and Hospital after he complained of acute chest pain. However, he died on the way.
Das became a household name for his outstanding role in the play ‘Saguna Basichi Dena Melai’ which earned him the moniker of Bhiku Seth.
