Popular Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moosewala Shot Dead A Day After AAP Govt Withdrew Security

Ludhiana: Popular Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead at Jawaharke in Mansa district on Sunday.

According to reports, two others were injured in the incident in which more than 30 rounds were fired.

The critically injured Moosewala was rushed to the Mansa Civil hospital, where he was declared dead.

“Three people were brought to the hospital, of whom Sidhu Moosewala was dead. After giving primary treatment, the two injured have been referred to a higher institute for further treatment,” ANI quoted Dr Ranjeet Rai as saying.

The fatal incident took place a day after the Bhagwant Mann-helmed Aam Aaadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab withdrew the security cover of 424 VIPs, including Moosewala.

The 28-year-old had joined the Congress last December. He contested in the 2022 Assembly elections from Mansaconstituency, but lost to AAP’s Vijay Singla.

Moosewala, whose actual name is Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, was a singer, rapper, songwriter and actor.
