Mumbai: Raj Kundra on Saturday filed a bail application claiming that he was being made a “scapegoat” and that there was absolutely no evidence of him being actively involved in creation of pornographic content.
Mumbai Police’s crime branch recently filed a supplementary chargesheet against Kundra
and three others accused in the porn films case pertaining to alleged creation of pornographic films and publishing them through certain apps. After that, the accused approached the metropolitan court for bail, saying that the investigation in the case was practically over.
Kundra, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband, was taken to police custody on July 19 and is currently in judicial custody.
He had earlier filed a bail plea which was opposed in the sessions court by Mumbai police and then rejected by the court.
In the fresh bail application, Kundra has claimed there is not an iota of evidence till date with the prosecution that would connect the ‘Hotshots’ app with an offence under law. Kundra has been accused of using this app to upload and stream obscene content.
The application also states that there is not one allegation in the supplementary chargesheet against Kundra that he was actively involved in any of the video shootings.
